Questions to ask when choosing accommodation

This is not an exhaustive list of questions, however they should help to give you some idea of the most important informaton you need to find out from your Host acoommodation provider.

  • What is the cost of the accommodation per week?
  • What bills does this cover - electricity, gas, phone?
  • Is a deposit required and if so how much?
  • Whether you will be required to pay for the room during the holidays?
  • What is provided in the room, bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, TV, desk and chair?
  • Private bathroom or shared with the family?
  • Is it full board - breakfast and evening meal, half board (just breakfast)  and what about weekends?
  • Can you come and go as you please?
  • Will the accommodation provider enforce curfews that your  parents put in place?
  • Are you able to use the kitchen facilities as and when you wish?
  • How much freedom will you be allowed around the house?
  • Are bed linen and towels provided?
  • Washing; will it be done for you or can you do your own?
  • Will you have wi fi internet access.  Is there a good mobile signal in your room?
  • Have the host accommodation provider had a DBS check?
